PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide who was born on the 2^nd of March, 1942 making him 76 years old. He is not the founder of the church, but was first translating Yoruba to English for the founder, Rev. Josiah O. Akindayomi. After the death of Rev J.O Akindayomi, the power was transferred to him in the year 1981 as the General Overseer of the church. Today the church is located in about 196 nations of the earth with up to 15,000 branches in Nigeria alone. You may wonder what the secret of this fast growth is, well, here it is.

MANDATE

God delivered his mandate which Pastor E.A Adeboye is running with, which is to make heaven and the strategies (ways) of doing that is to plant churches within a short distance to the homes of individuals, precisely five minutes walking distance in developing countries and five minutes driving distance in developed countries. That way, there would be no excuse of not going to church when you ought to, because when you open your gate, there would be a Redeemed Church staring you in the face.

One day when going about his spiritual work, God spoke to him and told him to seek a quiet place, that he wants to speak to him and he went ahead and followed the voice of God and encountered God in an 18-hour vision, the words he heard are “Now the time has come to liberate the world from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith and I am sending you to undertake this task”. Which means his God’s given mandate is the Liberation Mandate.
