AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (A.B.U): HISTORY, SCHOOL FESS, CUT OFF MARKS AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Presently in Nigeria, there are so many Federal universities, but just about 40 of them are approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The aim of this article is to bring out relevant information about Ahmadu Bello University; any updates on the university would also be updated here to avoid misinformation.

HISTORY OF A.B.U

When the federal Republic of Nigeria gained her independence in the year 1960, they had just one university and that was the University of Ibadan (U.I. Later it was recommended for new Universities to be added to the country which by then had only three regions. The recommendation was done by the Ashby commission Report.
Ahmadu Bello University started as Arabic school located in Kano, which was later named after the community leader, Sir Ahmadu Bello as Ahmadu Bello College, it was basically for Both Arabic and Islamic studies. The Ashby recommendation was approved and the decision was made to locate a University in Northern Nigeria, but would be located in Zaria, Kaduna State, rather than Kano State. The final decision was then made to name the University after the political Leader, Sir Ahmadu Bello.

YEAR STARTED: Ahmadu Bello University was started in the year 1962.

-          School of Law (200): Sharia law, Private law, public law, Commercial law, civil law.

SCHOOL FEES STRUCTURE OF AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY FOR NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS

For fresh students who applied to A.B.U, the average school fees to be paid are N45, 000 while that of returning students are about N25, 000. For the Masters programmes, students pay tuition fees of about N220, 000 to N250, 000. Any changes made would be communicated here as soon as possible.
